We have significant VC commitments (listed below) – every entering company will get $50,000 in funding, mentorship from top VCs and successful entrepreneurs plus free office space. To provide an opportunity for VCs and senior executives to engage with the community by giving back rather than just attending more cocktail parties.

and I thought if we brought the community together for common purpose we could create more of a sense of community to help new entrepreneurs get funded, assemble teams, raise profiles and help with biz dev, product, etc. Adam & I decided we wanted to return to our roots and focus on mentorship, which is our passion.

I think you need to be discerning about what kinds of investors and ideas you back, and that’s better for the innovation community as a whole—that there’s at least some kind of bar to get outside backing.
