World Entrepreneurs’ Day, celebrated each 21 August, honors the innovators, risk-takers, and trailblazers who shape industries, drive economicgrowth, and inspire others. EOA supports growth through direct learning, access to mentors, leaders, peers, and experts. EO supports entrepreneurs at every age and stage.
During my tenure with the local University I worked with economic developers all across Iowa, from Sioux City to Davenport and a great many small but mighty communities in-between: Grinnell, Parkersburg, Webster City and Lamoni to name a few. I grew up in a small town in north Iowa—Cedar Falls, to be exact.
Covering business areas from sustainable living to circular fashion, gastronomy to well-being, the program provided participants with mentorships, business skills, one-to-one clinics with GoDaddy experts, and peer networking. In 2020 it expanded to Germany through Impact Hub Munich and the target audience for each location changed. .
The report also highlights how Impact Hub members are encouraging economicgrowth, especially in the social impact sector, with 10,000+ new ventures and 29,000+ net new jobs created since 2012. The members surveyed said that being part of such a network had helped them to: Feel part of a larger community: 84%. Startarium.
