Back in 2006, when I started working on putting together some community groups for entrepreneurs and tech people, I looked for a better name to reference this collection of people. Moreover, it has a community built around diverse perspectives, support and empowerment. As someone who works in a space designed to make people feel at home more than they are at work, I can appreciate firsthand how creativity and productivity stems from comfort. Both spaces are about narrative and experience.
Yet, as I mark five years leading the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) as its CEO, it’s a good time to reflect on five key insights gained from such a remarkable community of business founders. How can I help them grow as individuals, and help us grow as a community? It is a time that has tested many of us.
