Back in 2006, when I started working on putting together some community groups for entrepreneurs and tech people, I looked for a better name to reference this collection of people. Moreover, it has a community built around diverse perspectives, support and empowerment. As someone who works in a space designed to make people feel at home more than they are at work, I can appreciate firsthand how creativity and productivity stems from comfort. Both spaces are about narrative and experience.

I started off by running some lower-level roles like community service. Have a thesis from which to build your story – If you don’t start by knowing what the central point(s) you’re trying to make are then you can’t construct a storyline that supports them. Below are some separate thoughts.

You can do nearly absolutely anything within one or two years time--as long as you put your mind to it and construct a plan. Me, I can't draw my way out of a stick hat, so I'd be a lost cause--but a creative person could do a lot with design classes in two years. It's a solvable problem.
