I'll bet you don't know where the Center of NY's Tech Community and Center of Creativity is. In fact, it is "well-known internationally as the original home of New York's technology community.". These are people whose business it is to support startups. It's in the Financial District--right at 55 Broad Street.

Given that, the lack of creativity and ingenuity around reaching an investor really astounds me. There are a lot of ways to reach investors by being a little more creative--without being creepy. I have no doubt that any new school dedicated to engineering will be a good thing in New York City--one that I will fully support. but for some reason, the one interesting proposal in Brooklyn--submitted by the existing most active participant in the local innovation community, NYU, doesn't seem to be getting much consideration.
