Within the framework of the European Union-funded “Coworking spaces for social innovation” program, Impact Hub is joining the Greek Higher Incubator Giving Growth & Sustainability (HIGGS) and other key organisations from the region in a hybrid conference to wrap up a whole year of activities.
As Forward Cities journeys with communities to develop equitable entrepreneurial ecosystems, one thing we are learning is that our collective imagination around entrepreneurship will have to expand. To them, those enterprises seemed less like examples of entrepreneurship and more like examples of community development.
Taking advantage of the international nature of our organization of entrepreneurship support communities, we wanted to understand the impact of COVID-19 on work systems and business sustainability worldwide, based on the experiences of Impact Hub Boston, Florianopolis, Taipei, Shanghai, Bamako, Lisbon, Vienna and Madrid.
The founding team at Impact Hub Honolulu is deeply rooted in the entrepreneurship community of the island, and deeply committed to helping Hawaii’s founders, managers, and entrepreneurs thrive. We are the largest coworking community space in the state of Hawaii. Our overarching goal is to help people do well, and do good.
The idea that this is the end of flexible and coworking workspaces could not be further from the truth. The Global Membership was offered to new members for free to keep them involved and connected with other like-minded people working in the Social Entrepreneurship sector.
As an emerging field that is challenging the status quo of entrepreneurship in economic development, ecosystem builders are bound to run into obstacles along the way which – if repeated and consistent – make us want to pull our hair out. and abroad between February and September 2020.
